Finding balance is having power.
Doing yoga is like being in an extremely slow dance with your own breath.
Allowing yourself the opportunity to develop your own personal yoga and meditation practice is a great gift you can receive from yourself.
Yoga can provide for you positive self discipline as you nurture yourself on your journey into adulthood.
Participation in pranayama practices (breathing exercises) and asanas (postural exercises) allows for meditation (mind exercise) which allows for prayer practice.
Being prayerful allows for you to be in direct communion with the truth.

Practice : Simple Doesn't Mean Easy & Simplicity is Key
Five minutes a day goes a very long way...
Asana
Asana refers to the postural yoga that we find in every day yoga studios. In the most historic texts referring to yoga the postures were only sitting ones for meditation.
Pranayama
Breathing exercises are used for various reasons from calming techniques to firing oneself up; we practice pranayama to remind ourselves of who is really in control of what.
Life begins at the first breath...
Genesis 2:7 in the Bible states: "Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being"
Meditation
Meditation practices teach us about thinking. That we are thinking, how we are thinking, when we are thinking and what comes from all of that and what choice do we have on how it is effected?
Personal Practice & Social Justice
I've always appreciated having some friends to practice yoga with. It's motivating and inspiring. Practicing at home- being self motivated and showing up for the practice when alone might be difficult for some. When is it time to show up for self? For other? Is there a way we can do both at the same time?

Not Easy, Worth It
I am looking for volunteer and paid work at a jail, prison or homeless shelter. I am also offering one on one personal practice development where we meet 3 times for about an hour over a course of six weeks over zoom or phone- this requires a phone and an e-mail minimum. The first session we discuss personal goals. I put together a potential practice for you and we touch base about it in the following session, where we will continue refining the personal practice. In the third session we will discuss outcomes and feedback.

About Me
A Student of Yoga
My journey with yoga began 20 years ago (in 2006) when I became certified to teach Hot Yoga as a result of an ATV accident which left me disabled. Though I can walk most of the time, I've learned to adapt. That initial training changed my perspective on healing in such a way that I, now, 20 years later am studying yoga and meditation as a form of social justice and transformation and self care in prisons- particularly for the addict, homeless, traumatized, ostracised or pregnant persons. I completed The Prison Yoga Project Teacher Training in 2017 which sparked my interest in silent meditation practices. I completed my bachelors degree in Yoga Studies at Naropa University in 2025. In addition to relying on a yoga practice for physical therapy, I also used personal yoga practice as a form of support through out my own pregnancy as well as for when I was getting sober. I have not had a drink in four years and am currently working on starting a business to provide for and serve G_d-thegreatmystery- my family and community. I like cooking things from scratch, learning from the seasons and natural ememies and studying different languages. I need stuff like trees, flowers, animals, music and the arts; from performing to poetry I'm an advocate of using our energy in creative and loving ways.
